DESCRIPTION

Coconut Shell Powder Activated Carbon — drinking water and point-of-use purification with low fines and long service life. Sanniu Carbon supplies this grade as a powder form, produced on our own activation lines and tested batch by batch.

Typical duty: drinking water, point-of-use cartridges, beverage processing, solvent recovery. Fine powder for batch dosing, decolourisation and short contact-time treatment.

The coconut shell series is characterised by a predominantly microporous structure matched to small molecules, with high hardness. Reference values for the series range from 900-1600 mg/g iodine value, 950-1200 m2/g BET surface area, 40% or higher CTC adsorption and 5% or lower ash, produced by physical activation. The agreed specification for your order is confirmed per batch.

Send the medium to be treated, the flow rate or concentration, the target specification and the required particle size. We confirm the grade and the agreed specification plan before quotation, and a 1-5 kg sample is available for evaluation.

Powder carbon is dosed into the batch or the stream rather than held in a bed. Finer powder adsorbs faster but is harder to recover, so it is usually applied where contact time is short or where the carbon is consumed in the process. Watch for a rising outlet concentration, a colour or odour change, or an increasing pressure drop. Any of these indicates the bed is loading up; arrange a test or a replacement before the outlet goes out of specification. Thermal regeneration and acid washing are the usual recovery routes.

Values in the specification table follow the series reference ranges and are confirmed per batch. Iodine value and methylene blue adsorption are reported in mg/g, CTC adsorption, hardness and ash content in %, bulk density in g/cm3 and particle size in mesh. Test reports name the sample tested and the method used.

From raw material to a sealed export bag, in five controlled steps.

Raw carbonised wood material before activation

Raw material selection

Wood chips, coconut shell, nutshell, coal or bamboo are graded on moisture and ash before carbonisation.

Carbonised wood blocks

Carbonisation

Material is carbonised at controlled temperature to build the initial pore skeleton.

Granular carbon after activation and screening

Activation

Steam or chemical activation opens the pore network; the route used is recorded on the specification plan.

Rotary drying line for activated carbon

Drying and screening

Product is dried to the target moisture and screened to the ordered mesh range.

Common questions from buyers evaluating coconut shell powder activated carbon.

What information do you need for a quotation?

The medium to be treated, the flow rate or concentration, the target specification and the required particle size. With those we confirm the grade and the agreed specification plan before pricing.

Can you supply a trial sample?

Yes. A 1-5 kg sample is supplied for evaluation, with freight at the buyer's cost. Larger evaluation quantities can be discussed with your technical engineer.

What is the minimum order quantity and the lead time?

MOQ is 1 tonne. Standard lead time is 15 days; stock items ship within 3-5 days. Production progress is updated weekly.

Which documents are issued with a shipment?

CO, Form E, MSDS and COA can be issued. Third-party inspection through SGS or BV is available when the order calls for it.
